Maybe—and 'maybe' is why you need to check compatibility before you buy. Mist AI is a big part of Juniper's value today, but not every platform or Junos version supports every Mist feature. The ability to manage a switch in Mist depends on the exact model and software release.
Check the compatibility matrix on Juniper's TechLibrary, and ask for the current installed Junos version before you commit. This is an efficiency question, not just a feature question. A fleet you can monitor without logging into 20 boxes is easier to run. Fewer manual checks means fewer missed problems.
But don't buy a used box solely for Mist support unless you've confirmed it. I've seen people assume a used switch will 'just work' with Mist, and then spend weeks on incompatible firmware.
Used Juniper gear is a good idea for labs, test environments, and non-critical access ports. For core routing or security zones, I'd almost never choose it. The question isn't 'Can we save money?' It's 'What happens when it fails and we don't have support?'
